A portion of Highway 2 near Monroe is back open after Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue says a semi truck hit a pickup truck.
The crash resulted in 15 to 20 gallons of a herbicide mixture spilling onto the road at milepost 12.
“We contained the liquids with absorbent materials and will forward the command to WSP and the Department of Ecology for further cleanup,” Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue said.
The Washington State Patrol says westbound traffic was diverted to Roosevelt Road and eastbound traffic was diverted to Fryelands Boulevard for several hours while the mess was cleaned up.
A semi-truck rear-ended a pick-up truck towing a box trailer carrying a herbicide mix. About 15-20 gal had leaked from the containers on the road. We contained the liquids using absorbent materials and forwarded the command to WSP and Dpt of Ecology for further cleaning. pic.twitter.com/oak8EsQF0N
